Open Concert Journal

Editorial policy

Open Concert Journal aims to make ensemble practice understandable without pretending that one rehearsal method fits every group. We distinguish general guidance from personal preference and correct the record when something is wrong.

Accuracy and independence

We check names, terminology and factual claims against suitable material before publication, and avoid presenting a suggestion as a universal rule. Editorial decisions are made for reader value; a commercial relationship does not buy a favourable view or control over coverage.

Corrections and contributions

If you spot an error, contact us with the article and the specific point. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers. Contributions are edited for accuracy, clarity and fit, and authorship or relevant interests are disclosed where appropriate.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, gifted or otherwise arranged partner material is clearly identified as such and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are labelled so readers can distinguish illustrative imagery from documentary material.

Our approach

Good playing starts with good attention

Ensemble music depends on small acts of coordination. We look at choices players can try, hear and discuss at the next rehearsal.
